I have lived in Halifax for several decades and I have always wanted to make a postcard to celebrate it.

I decided to merge typography with illustration using the silhouette of a seagull to create a postcard beyond the typical tourist postcard with lobsters, lighthouses, or sailboats.

I incorporated some print inspired texture so that it looks like it has been screen printed.  I also used different blues to represent the ever present Atlantic ocean.

I am also planning to make some 8×10 prints of this guy. Here is a sneak peek.
