17 Jun I Dream In CMYK Postcard #12

There are several types of dreams. Nightmares, calming and soothing dreams, dreams about loved ones, and dreams about strangers. My favourite dreams are day dreams that happen when you are awake and conscious of your thoughts. You can guide your thoughts in a different direction and get creative ideas.

Some theories state that your dreams are premonitions of your future or your subconscious mind trying to communicate with your conscious mind to warn you of an unhealthy balance in your life. Either way, dreams are one of those mysterious and always interesting topics of conversation. I always love discussing dreams with people and often the topic comes up without me prompting it.

Some people only dream in black and white. I am a lucky dreamer who dreams in colour but since I am a designer, I prefer to say CMYK. Which brings me to this week’s postcard design titled “I dream in CMYK”.

This was a really quick design that popped into my head and generated in Illustrator. I created the 3D effect on the balloons with the gradient mesh tool and used various textures to create the grainy background and vignette effect with the darker edges.
